Getting started
What is FrançaisFlow?
FrançaisFlow is an all-in-one platform for learning French: smart flashcards with spaced repetition, conjugation training, le/la gender practice, translation exercises, and an AI conversation partner — covering levels A1 to B2.
How do I get started?
Create a free account and take the short placement test — it estimates your level and tailors what you see. From then on, the Dashboard offers you a daily session that bundles everything due for review into a few focused minutes.
What is spaced repetition?
Instead of cramming, FrançaisFlow schedules each word or verb form for review right before you would forget it, using the FSRS algorithm. Items you know well come back rarely; items you struggle with come back sooner. A few minutes a day is enough to keep hundreds of words alive.
Do I need to know any French already?
No. Complete beginners can start with the Top 500 most common words deck, while more advanced learners can jump straight into CEFR B1/B2 decks, DELF preparation vocabulary, or conjugation drills.
Flashcards & decks
What preset decks are available?
Frequency decks (Top 500 and Top 1000 most common French words), CEFR level decks from A1 to B2, and DELF exam preparation decks. Activate any deck from the Flashcards hub and its cards join your review queue.
Can I import my existing cards from Anki or a spreadsheet?
Yes. FrançaisFlow imports Anki .apkg files and CSV files directly in your browser, and you can export your collection to CSV at any time — your data is never locked in.
What does the AI suggestion feature do?
When you add a card, AI auto-fills the details for you: grammatical gender, CEFR level, IPA pronunciation, translations, example sentences, and tags. It even corrects typos in the French word.
Do flashcards have audio?
Yes — cards play native-speaker pronunciations where available, with generated audio as a fallback. You can enable auto-play during practice in Settings.
Practice & progress
What is the daily session?
One guided session from the Dashboard that gathers everything due across your modules — flashcard reviews, conjugation, and gender practice. Completing it keeps your streak going and fills in your study heatmap.
How does conjugation practice work?
Pick a tense to study its rules and verb tables, star irregular verbs you want to focus on, then practice with typed answers, multiple choice, or fill-in-the-blank exercises. Verb forms you miss come back via spaced repetition.
How do I learn noun genders?
The Le/La module teaches gender through practice with rules and context sentences. Bonus: when you type "le chat" instead of just "chat" in flashcard practice, the correct article also counts toward your gender progress.
How do streaks work?
Complete at least one practice session in a day to keep your streak. Your activity is visualised on the Dashboard's study heatmap, alongside weekly reports and progress rings per module.
Plans & billing
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
The Free plan includes a daily allowance of spaced-repetition reviews, a weekly allowance of new cards, and a selection of preset decks — enough to study seriously every day. Premium removes the limits and unlocks every preset deck. Exact numbers are on the Pricing page.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Click 'Manage Subscription' on the Pricing page to open the customer portal and cancel with one click, or email salut@francaisflow.com. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — within 14 days of your first purchase, no questions asked. See the Refund Policy section of our Terms of Service for details.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record: all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and more depending on your region. You'll receive a receipt by email after each charge.
Account & data
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. In Settings → Account you can download an export of your data or permanently delete your account along with everything you've created, in line with GDPR.
How do I change my password or email preferences?
Both live in Settings — update your password under Account, and control reminder and digest emails under Notifications.
I found a bug or have a feature idea — where do I send it?
Use the in-app contact form or the feature request board (we read everything), or email us directly. Bug reports with a screenshot are extra appreciated.
